I See the Moon

“The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”
Tonight marks what is known as a blue moon. It means that there are two full moons in one month. I remember taking each of my kids and, later, each grandchild, outside to find the moon and marvel at it. It is a sight to see, no matter your age. It may be one of those things we often take for granted in life, rarely paying it any attention. What a shame, as it truly is a wonder to behold whether it is a mere sliver or full in all its majesty. Take a moment, especially tonight, to go outside and see this beautiful light in the sky, because the next full moon will not occur until July 31, 2015!!!

Listen

"A child seldom needs a good talking to as a good listening to."  ~Robert Brault
I wonder what she is telling, Pa. I am sure it is important...especially to her!

To Pieces!

If ever there was a popular guy, it is Pa. He has a fan club of three that think he is the greatest. He never tires of pushing the swing, helps them build things, comes to most every game, swim meet, & dance recital.  We had a big discussion about, "What would Papa like for his birthday that doesn't cost too much?" That caused us to make a list of things he likes. At the top of the list are these three, so we decided to make him this photo and frame. It says, "We Love Papa to pieces!". Notice the puzzle pieces in each corner!
He is the last piece in OUR puzzle. He loves us. He helps us. He is tireless in his efforts to make our lives better. We are lucky to have him.
Happy Birthday, Pa!!

Olympic Influence

I love that the kids are interested in the Olympics, especially the swimming. Now, in the pool they don't just play, they like to have relays and see if they earn a gold medal. I have to be the official starter that announces, "Swimmers, take your mark." Then, I have to be the "buzzer" to start them!

Can you guess what this is? Maddy made it and said it was our Olympic torch!
She is ready for her leg of the relay. She may be the smallest, but she is tough!
Not sure what event this is...basket babes??
Jack says, "Chicks dig swimmers!"
As always, they bring a fresh perspective to everything in my life. And along with that, they bring a smile to my face!
